“Make yourself a priority. At the end of the day, you’re your longest commitment.”

— Unknown

That quote is not mine, but many years ago I came across it on social media somewhere and it really stuck with me as I was seriously getting ready to make my own health and nutrition journey.   After reading that, I made the connection that making myself a priority was not at all something I was used to. Afterall the majority of my time was spent taking care of everyone else in my career and in my family. Can you resonate?  I believe wholeheartedly that a lot of us women out there spend all of our time, energy and resources taking care of others without first taking care of ourselves. Do you often think of something new that you would like to try, like a new recipe, hobby, or exercise class,  but you tell yourself,  I will do that when I have time, so you brush it aside?  Yeah, me too. Been there.

When clients come to me they often know that something(or lots of things) need to change, but they get confused on the what and how.   My coaching is a personalized approach tailored to your unique needs and preferences, making it easier for you to create the necessary lasting changes and habits that support your long-term well-being using nutrition and holistic whole-person health to achieve lasting whole-person health, including weight loss.

Group Coaching: In my group coaching programs I provide nutrition coaching in a group setting. These sessions focus on fine tuning the nutritional needs of women over 40 who are approaching or in the throws of perimenopause and menopause and as a result are struggling with weight loss.

One-on-One Private Coaching:

Our one-on-one private coaching program is perfect for those seeking a personalized approach to nutrition and health. Our sessions are designed to help you create sustainable changes in your diet and lifestyle, with a focus on developing healthy habits that last. Whether you're looking to lose weight, improve your digestion, or simply feel more energized, our coaching program can help you achieve your goals and I offer 3 month and 6 month coaching packages.

Pantry Makeovers:

Looking for a fresh start on your nutrition journey? Sometimes the easiest first step is identifying what in the pantry needs to go!  My pantry makeovers are designed to help you make healthier choices in your home.  I will  work with you in person or virtually to assess your current pantry and make recommendations for healthier options, as well as tips for reading labels and choosing the right foods for your goals. By making small changes in your pantry, you'll be setting yourself up for success and making it easier to maintain healthy eating habits long-term.

Grocery Tours:

My grocery tours are a fun and informative way to learn more about healthy eating options.  I will take you on a guided tour of your local grocery store, teaching you how to read labels, choose healthy options, and make informed decisions when shopping for food. This is a great option for those who are new to healthy eating or looking to refresh their knowledge and discover new products.

  • With the help of Emily’s health coaching, over the course of 3 months I was able to lose 24 pounds, but what I gained was a way of living that is so much healthier and more wholesome than before. Emily encouraged me to give equal attention to my physical, mental and spiritual well-being and offered practices and techniques to help me accomplish such. During our biweekly sessions, Emily provided a safe space to talk about my good and bad habits and offered guidance and options that helped me better myself so I could sustain my progress. Her approach focused on having a healthier lifestyle (not just diet) that was manageable for me and didn’t make me feel restricted, starved or physically exhausted. In focusing on cleaner eating and a well-balanced diet, offering recipes that catered to my tastes, preferences and time, Emily helped me to develop a way of eating that left me feeling full and energized. With my busy schedule and crazy work life, Emily always emphasized making time for self-care to help nourish myself and recharge from the stresses of my day-to-day. She was always cognizant of my schedule and responsibilities and made sure to offer practical means of achieving my goals. If ever I found myself losing my way, she never passed judgment. She guided me back on track, fostering an environment to be open and honest so that I was able to truly get the most of my coaching experience. She was always available for questions and quick tips, and I never felt alone on my journey. I began with Emily, focused on losing weight, but quickly found myself developing an appreciation and reverence for my mind and body and a desire to take care of it. I highly recommend Emily Joy Living to help you embark on your journey to a healthier you.

  • When I came to Emily for coaching, I was burned out physically and emotionally. I had just received an auto immune diagnosis and I was also overweight and pre-diabetic. Oh, and on top of that my stress levels were through the roof. Emily helped me come up with a nutrition program that was not restrictive. It was built in a way to reduce cravings and keep my hunger at bay. My husband and I both loved her recipes that were built around whole foods, without giving up any kinds of foods. In coaching with Emily, I learned how to nourish my plate with the right amounts of proteins, carbs, and fats so that I no longer crave sugar. My old way of dieting was weight watchers and while it worked for me several times in the past, it was so restrictive and not sustainable. She also helped me figure out ways to bring my stress down to a manageable level with my nutrition, sleep, and self-care. Because of my auto immune diagnosis and being pre-diabetic, losing weight was a fast priority and in 3 months I was down 34.6 pounds! What I took away from my coaching time, was that if I want my loss to be sustainable, I must also find ways to prioritize my self-care and reduce my stress and Emily helped me come up with simple, affordable self-care routines that were easy to fit into my day.

  • I've dealt with daytime fatigue, being over weight, and just overall not happy with how I look/feel for far too long. I joined Emily's 4 week Fall Nutrition program, which also included workouts by Krista. It has changed my life! I've slimmed down, feel stronger, no longer bloated, more daytime energy, I'm sleeping better, and I learned a ton about nutrition I didn't know before. Best part, it's not a diet, it's tools to teach you how to get there naturally. I can't wait to start the next session!

  • Thank you Emily & Krista for the Fall Fitness & Nutrition 4 week session! I have created 'new' habits and have increased movement, all while feeling so much better. I haven't seen a huge movement in the scale but that's not important to me at this time...I feel better and I know I am creating a healthier lifestyle for my more than middle-aged body. ☺️ I don't know about anyone else, but I have gained this new uncomfortableness in my mid section since becoming perimenopausal and I need it gone, I think this program is key to making that happen. I actually love these workouts so much that I actually struggle wanting to take a day off - Krista, you have turned me into a morning workout warrior! And Emily is such a wealth of knowledge and she does a great job keeping it real and helping us not only keep it in check but also helps us understand that there HAS to be a balance that fits your family dynamic & lifestyle. I'm super excited to dive into the next 8 week session because I KNOW it only gets better from here!! I hope you will consider doing the same, let's build each other up ladies..we are going to ROCK this over 40 stage of life(almost 50 for me)!
